Safiya feared for her life as she galloped threw the rocky terrain. She had come across a pack of wolves just as they had woke up from a long nap,and were now hungry.Thinking she would be easy prey, they chased her threw the mountians. She remembered when the lead mare had done just this and chased her out of the valley. She pinned her ears back with anger. She took a swift turn and headed down the mountian faster then she should have and tripped. She lost her balance, but regained it with when she was on flat ground. The wolves had lost sight of her,but would soon find her scent and carry on with the hunt. That was the last thing she wanted. She loped towards a meadow and slowed down to a walk. The last time she had gone threw a meadow, hunters had mistaken her for a deer and shot at her,She had no idea why they had thought she was a deer, she had a dapple grey coat, not a brown one.Humans, how stupid they can be.she thought. She walked threw the meadow cautiously, and managed to not get shot. She looked behind her at her grey coat.It was caked with mudno wonder they thought I was a deershe thought sarcasticlyall I have to do is grow some antlers and I could be one.She walked over to the river and walked in.She splashed around in the cool, icey water. She rubbed her nose against her withers, trying to get the dirt off."I dont need a herd,I can take care of myself"She said. She looked at the one spot she couldnt get.She sighed."alright, fine, fine,I doneeda herd, but I dont want one."She thought about it.Did she want a herd?Did she want somebody to love her?She turned her head away, shaking the thoughts. The last time she loved somebody,it had almost costed his life. She sighed. My dear, sweet caspian. She thought.you risked your life, just so I could live. Caspian had been her love. The only one that had loved her at all.He had been the lead stallions son.And the lead stallion picked his mate. And it wasnt me.Caspian was forced to have a mate who was selfish, greedy, and a brat. But we had often snuk out to be together. One night,we were caught, and Caspian was ordered to leave.I,however, was told to stay, for I was wanted by the lead stallions other son, whos name was sorrel. He was a mean, selfish stallion, who loved to watch horses be slaughtered. But that was when her uncle had told her she was better then the lead mare, and from there, things went hay-wire.Safiya shook her head with greef. She wouldnt harm another. She wouldnt let another stallion be hurt like her dear caspian had. Unless she thought he wouldnt care, and maybe, just maybe,he could love her enough for she longed for a love.
